Carluccio's is a chain of Italian restaurants and this one is situated out on the Pearl development that is a man made island beyond West Bay in Doha. It is in Area 10. It serves Italian style food and is licensed to serve alcohol too!
The food is mainly pasta based but you can get steak etc. I always opt for the risotto but you can asked to have this well cooked (like me) rather than al dente that appears to be the standard. The desserts are also Italian including of course tiramisu. The staff are attentive and friendly and the facilities are new. There are tables outside with umbrellas where patrons are allowed to smoke.
In addition to the restaurant there is a shop too. Here they sell pasta etc and we like to go there at Christmas to buy the fantastic pantone to feast on. This is worth the journey out to the Pearl.
